c.eleganz is a generative animation produced by a bio-digital feedback environment that explores how mortality, immortality and memory are all experienced in the digital realm. 

 

Utilising the data produced by the open source project Openworm (the first successful digital and neural simulation of a complete biological organism: the microscopic roundworm c.elegans), c.eleganz is an attempt to hack the linearity of the worm’s concept of time and to visualise the effect of becoming-virtual on the nematode's circular cycle of memory.
